“Blinged-out Boxes & Creative Canisters – using Embossed Metal Tape”
Thursday, May 25 6:30 – 8:30
with Patricia Dillingham $30.00, materials included
Humble plumber’s tape from the hardware store goes fancy when you dress it up with intricate embossing and vibrant color. Create a unique two-part trinket tin in this fun class. You can go as low-key and monochromatic or as crazy with color as you imagination allows; these dyes really pop. It is easier than it looks, and the results are impressive.
This is a wonderful technique that can be applied to a number of other projects – literally anything you can stick tape to! Patricia has made a series of lightbulb plate covers in this material and they are stunning. You can bring your own light plates from your house (they just screw off) so you know they will fit and bring those!
“Another Donut?” Brickstitch Round Necklace Pendant with Shanna Steele
Thursday, June 8 6:30 – 8:30 pm $60.00 includes materials
In this class, you will learn a technique called the circular brick stitch, which is most often used to create a beautiful beaded border for donuts and other round links. In this class, we will be learning to embellish a gemstone donut pendant with Miyuki seed beads. We will even learn to stitch a bail. This photo is for earrings using the same technique; but our pendant will be much larger using beautiful glass:
Some knowledge of working with a needle and thread in beadwork is preferred for this class, but knowledge of the circular brick stitch is not required.
If you signed up and paid and the class you wanted doesn’t make, we’ll let you know via email and allow for reschedule for the same or another class. (if there’s no desired class, repayment will be made in the same form as originally paid.) If the class you later take costs more, payment for the difference will be due.
Should you need to cancel or reschedule a class at Makers Connect, we require 72 hours notice. A full refund will be issued or you may request a Class Credit to be used toward another class we offer. If a cancellation is received less than 72 hours prior to the class, no refund or Class Credit will be issued. This allows the teachers to be fully prepared for the correct number of students and to allow for time to fill the slot in classes that often have a waiting list.
Also, please don’t assume we’ll have space for a friend on the day of class – though we love the enthusiastic sharing of information, there are many classes that require specific tools that we might simply not have enough of and we don’t wish to disappoint. Just call or email ahead and see if we can accommodate your friends!
